As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality.

The point of the study is to investigate educational and vocational counselors' strategies on drop in calls. In order to answer the purpose, the issues concerning the educational and vocational counselors' strategies and guidance models/methods at drop-in calls investigated.Qualitative interviews were conducted with six educational and vocational counselors'.In the study it appears that the educational and vocational counselors' are unable to have any strategies for drop-in conversation because the applicant will come spontaneously and the educational and vocational counselors' lack information about the individual and its purpose of the interview. Guidance models/methods designed to facilitate for the applicant and give them a sense of understanding about them selves there environment and results in a clarification of the election, not often used during the drop-in calls.These are not often used due to the lack of time because the intention of the call is to provide with information to the applicant in as little time as possible. This thesis investigates how a developer can move a desktop application to the web environment. The investigation also includes finding out what are the limitations of a web application and what is not possible to move to the web from the desktop. The question is whether there is any functionality that is gained or lost in the web application after the move.A survey has been conducted to find out what types of problems occur when moving an application from desktop to the web. The authors of this thesis have developed two prototypes for a company who wants to move a limited part of their current desktop application to the web in the future. The prototypes have been developed in Silverlight and ASP.NET.The survey has revealed that one of the disadvantages of web applications is the difficulty in working with local files and hardware on the computer.
